Comprehensive Eye Exam

Comprehensive eye exams evaluate all aspects of your vision and eye health. In addition to obtaining prescription measurements for glasses and contact lenses, comprehensive exams look at your eyes both externally and internally for signs of eye disease(s) and other health-related problems. Without comprehensive exams, many eye diseases may go undetected before permanent vision problems arise. At Harlan Eye Care, we ensure that your comprehensive eye exam is both thorough and catered to your specific needs, making your eye care experience with us irreplaceable.

We believe in providing the same top-notch care to every patient regardless of circumstances.  Therefore, every patient that is able will receive the following tests at NO EXTRA CHARGE: digital retinal photography and an automated visual field evaluation.  These technologies help detect many systemic and eye health conditions which may go undetected without a quality eye exam.  Some traditional offices charge nearly $100 for the same testing.

We do NOT utilize the "air puff" eye pressure test at Harlan Eye Care!  Did you know there are many ways to test a person's eye pressure that don't involve the dreaded air puff?  Most clinics use the air puff test because it is usually the fastest way to measure eye pressure.  Dr. Harlan will spend the extra time you deserve to measure your eye pressure more comfortably.

Dilation

In addition to retina photography, Dr. Harlan recommends eye dilation for all patients at certain intervals because it is part of thorough long-term eye care.  You have the option to decline dilation, but we will include it as part of your exam.
